What Can I Expect in  Body Pump Class?

A Body Pump Class will typically run for 60 minutes and after completing a warm up will work through the following muscle groups:

Legs, Chest and Back
Your first three tracks will focus on your largest muscle groups – legs, chest and back. Typical and effective exercises performed for these major muscle groups are squats, chest press, rows and deadlifts.

Triceps, Biceps and Shoulders
After your large muscle groups the focus shifts to the smaller muscle groups of the upper body. These exercises use a weighted bar, free weights and body weight.

Abdominals, Cool Down and Stretch
After working through a range of different abdominal exercise to help strengthen your core you will end the class with a light cool down and stretch to help avoid injury and muscle soreness.

It is important to remember that calorie expenditure differs for each individual and will vary for each person depending on their age, weight, gender and fitness level.
